The acknowledgements come first:-
This is copied from a Zen book that Vinod Samuel gave me to read( not word by word ,but the plot of the story ). It really makes lot of sense in the contiuation of my previous blog . Even if youdid not find the previous one relevant, this itself is a nice story.
Two traveling monks reached a river where they met a young woman. Wary of the current, she asked if they could carry her across. One of the monks hesitated, but the other quickly picked her up onto his shoulders, transported her across the water, and put her down on the other bank. She thanked him and departed.
In the evening the younger monk came to the elder monk and said, "Sir, as monks, we cannot touch a woman ?"
The elder monk answered "yes, brother".
Then the younger monk asks again, " but then Sir, how is that you lifted that woman on the roadside ?"
The elder monk smiled at him and told him " I left her on the other side of the road, but you are still carrying her "
